What is Meditation?
I guess if you ask 100 people this question, you'll get at least as many answers for what meditation is. Answers may range from learning to control the breath to simple relaxation to clearing the mind. If you've heard all this before, I guess the truth really is all of those descriptions as, at least in part, they are parts of what I would call the whole definition.

I would like you to think of meditation as a single pointed focus on God, or an aspect of God.Even without this recommendation, there are still incredible benefits to the practice. At the least, you will be able to examine your thoughts and to stop reacting to them slavishly. You will relieve stress and, feel more alert and even improve your health. With that being said, much like you can't go to the local gym completely out of shape and start bench pressing 250 lbs, you can't start a meditative regime with the most advanced techniques right off the bat.
I use this meditative aid in my practice to achieve deeper states of consciousness.
Let's start together-slowly-soundly-and effectively. More importantly, if you can just start getting in the habit of making it a part of your daily routine, you’d be off to a great start. It won't take long to start seeing your "spiritual muscles" grow and in turn inspire you to stay on track. Like most things in life that are worthwhile, you can't acquire spiritual or personal growth by reading book after book. It is a something you must do... step by step...one day at a time. The answers, motivation, self-confidence, self-love, and happiness are all right under your nose. All you have to do is look inside yourself. Yes, that cliché irritates me too so sorry! People always seem to be drawn to me who are in need of some kind of healing. The purpose of this site is to somehow do the same for you.

Meditation is the science of reuniting the soul with Spirit. Our souls descend from God into flesh and that consciousness is "housed", if you will, in energy centers in the spine called chakras. There are seven of them. Our souls become more and more identified with our physical bodies and their mortal limitations. Try to remember when you were very young. That imagination and sense of endless possibilities that once came so naturally to you can be yours again. And much, much more. Meditation really should not be confused with ordinary concentration. Yes, it takes mind power and concentration. You can think of concentration is that effort applied to any thought that interests you, while meditation is concentration used to know God. Now if I'm talking to that special mom right now, remember you use that laser focused concentration in scheduling and juggling tasks involving the house and kids everyday! You can do this! If I'm talking to a professional, you use it writing that document, proving a theory, making a lesson plan.... you get the idea. You can do this! If you're that broken hearted soul fresh out of a breakup, you're using a LOT of your energy dwelling on pain and heartache. The power of the mind is vast dear friend and... You can do this too! Everyone can. The health benefits and joy you can experience from this practice is well worth the time you put into it. It's ok if you don't have the discipline and power of a Yogi. I assure you I don't (yet). It's ok if you can't shut down your entire somatic system and unite with Spirit just so long as you try. It will come! From time to time I may refer to quotes from biblical or other spiritual texts. I know I may run the risk of offending some of you, but please know it's not my intention. I can also assure you that meditation is beneficial to all no matter what "religion" you're associated with.
